Identifier required links not footer dup

identifier-required-links-not-footer-dup

Identifier holds the required federal links — don’t duplicate them in the site footer. Parent agency (highest in the hierarchy), not the product logo. Multiple parents/logos in hierarchical order, highest first. Omit identifier logo if it duplicates the footer agency mark. Entire component; no deleted required links.

Description

USWDS puts required federal links in the identifier once—do not duplicate them in the site footer. Use the parent agency highest in the hierarchy, not the product logo; multiple parents appear in hierarchical order, highest first. Omit the identifier logo if it duplicates the footer agency mark. Keep the entire component; do not delete required links. Footer duplicates, product logos in the identifier, or omitted required links fail.

When to use

Placing required agency links and logos in the USWDS identifier.

Not when

Product logos as the identifier mark, or required links omitted or footer-duplicated.

Agent hint

Put required links only in the identifier; use the highest parent agency, not the product logo.

Pass

Required links live in the identifier once (not also in the footer); parent agency is highest in hierarchy; product logo is not used as the identifier mark; required links are not deleted.

Fail

Required links duplicated in the footer; product logo in the identifier; required links omitted.
