End of task labels named

end-of-task-labels-named

End-of-task labels named: Done, Finish, Close, Got it, Dismiss (pick the one that matches the outcome).

Description

Fluent end-of-task labels are named from a fixed set: Done, Finish, Close, Got it, or Dismiss. Pick the one that matches the outcome the user just reached, not a generic stand-in. Apply when naming the closing action after a task or teaching moment. Fail generic OK, or a name that does not match the outcome — for example Dismiss when the task finishes a commit.

When to use

Naming the closing action after a task or teaching moment.

Not when

Primary commit verbs mid-task (Publish, Save) — those are not end-of-task dismissals.

Agent hint

Pick Done, Finish, Close, Got it, or Dismiss to match the actual outcome.

Pass

End-of-task uses one of Done / Finish / Close / Got it / Dismiss that matches the outcome.

Fail

Generic OK, or a name that does not match the outcome (e.g. Dismiss when the task finishes a commit).
