Create labels: New {thing}

create-labels-new-thing

Create labels: “New {thing}”; menu trigger “New”; menu items drop the word New.

Description

Fluent create labels use “New {thing}.” The menu trigger that opens create options is simply “New”; items inside the menu drop the word New so the list stays scannable. Apply when labeling Fluent create actions and New menus that spawn items. Fail menu items that repeat New, or a create control that is unlabeled or a generic Add where this New pattern applies.

When to use

Labeling Fluent create actions and New menus that spawn items.

Not when

Add-to-collection actions that are not the Fluent New create pattern.

Agent hint

Label create as New {thing}; menu trigger New; omit New on menu items.

Pass

Create action is “New {thing}”; the menu trigger is “New”; items inside drop New.

Fail

Menu items repeat New, or the create control is unlabeled / generic Add with no New pattern where this usage applies.
