Find understand use nonpriority must not block

find-understand-use-nonpriority-must-not-block

Find / understand / use; non-priority must not block findability. Every design decision is judged on those three. Group the same public topic across departments; remove duplicate content. Do not publish what GC is not the authoritative source for — link out instead.

Description

Every Canada.ca design decision is judged on find, understand, and use. Non-priority material must not block findability of the task. Group the same public topic across departments and remove duplicate content. Do not publish what GC is not the authoritative source for — link out instead. Fail extra non-priority that hides the task, duplicate departmental pages for one public topic, or GC publishing material it does not own.

When to use

Prioritizing Canada.ca topics, duplicates, and what GC should publish.

Not when

Visual polish tasks that do not change findability or authority of content.

Agent hint

Keep non-priority from hiding tasks; group duplicates; link out non-authoritative material.

Pass

Non-priority content does not hide the findable task; duplicate public topics are grouped/removed; non-authoritative material is a link out.

Fail

Extra non-priority blocks findability; duplicate departmental pages for the same public topic; GC publishes what it is not the source for.
