Dropdown chooser

forms.inputs.dropdown_chooser

For a bounded choice set, let the user pick from a drop-down chooser rather than typing the value from memory.

Description

For a bounded choice set, let the user pick from a drop-down chooser rather than typing the value from memory. Pass when the bounded set is chosen from a drop-down or equivalent; fail when a bounded list is presented as a blank the user must recall. Prefer choosers that surface the options over memory-taxing free text.

When to use

Bounded choice sets where recalling the exact string is unnecessary.

Not when

Open values with no fixed list to choose from.

Agent hint

Use a drop-down chooser for bounded sets; do not force memory typing.

Pass

Bounded set is picked from a drop-down (or equivalent chooser), not typed from memory.

Fail

Bounded list is a blank the user must recall.
