Settings mode and grouping thresholds
settings-mode-and-grouping-thresholds
One mode per page: Instant Effect or Submission Effect (use submit when items interdepend). Item count: <7 no grouping; 7–15 group; >15 tab grouping.
Description
Ant settings pages use one mode end to end: Instant Effect or Submission Effect, and submission when items interdepend. Item count drives grouping: under seven needs no grouping, seven to fifteen group together, and over fifteen use tab grouping. Apply when structuring a settings inventory page, not a short one-off form. Fail mixing instant and submission on one page, or grouping that ignores those count bands.
When to use
Structuring an Ant settings page with many interdependent items.
Not when
Short one-off forms that are not settings inventory pages.
Agent hint
Pick instant or submission mode once; group by <7, 7–15, or tabs >15.
A settings page is one mode (instant or submission). Counts follow <7 / 7–15 / >15 tab grouping. Interdependent items use submission.
Instant and submission mixed on one page; or counts grouped against those bands.
