Question pages continue back no sliders

question-pages-continue-back-no-sliders

Question pages: Continue (not “Submit” jargon); Back link; don’t use range sliders.

Description

On question pages the primary action is Continue, not Submit jargon; include a Back link; and do not use a range slider as the answer control. Continue names the next step without sounding like a final commit, and Back keeps recovery obvious. Range sliders are a poor fit for precise answers on question pages. Fail for Submit wording on a question page, a missing Back link, or a range slider collecting the answer. Use this on GOV.UK-style question pages.

When to use

Building GOV.UK-style question pages with a primary advance action.

Not when

Not for settings screens that truly submit, or non-question content pages.

Agent hint

Label the primary Continue, include Back, and avoid range sliders for answers.

Pass

Question page primary is Continue (not Submit); a Back link is present; no range slider for the answer.

Fail

Submit jargon on a question page; no Back; or a range slider as the answer control.
