Calendar control when

calendar-control-when

Calendar control only if the date is near future or recent past and weekday/week-of-month matters; never JS-only — always also a text entry.

Description

A calendar control is for dates close to today when weekday or week-of-month matters to the choice. It must never be the only path: always offer a text entry as well so the flow is not JS-only. Skip the calendar when those conditions do not hold. Fail if a calendar is used for unsuitable dates, or if there is no text-entry alternative beside it.

When to use

Picking a near-future or recent date where weekday or week matters.

Not when

Not for distant, memorable, or lookup dates better served by day/month/year.

Agent hint

Add a calendar only with text entry; never make date picking JS-only.

Pass

A calendar is used only when both conditions hold, and a text entry exists as well (not JS-only).

Fail

Calendar for dates that fail those conditions, or calendar with no text-entry alternative.
