Toast no redundant dismiss

toast-no-redundant-dismiss

No redundant Dismiss — every toast already has a close control.

Description

Every Spectrum toast already includes a close control, so an extra Dismiss action is redundant noise. A second dismiss control clutters the toast and competes with any single related action the pattern allows. Keep the built-in close for dismissal; reserve the optional action slot for a task related to the toast text, not another way to hide the message.

When to use

Authoring toast actions alongside the built-in close control.

Not when

Dialogs or banners whose primary recovery action is a labeled dismiss.

Agent hint

Omit extra Dismiss buttons; the toast close control is enough.

Pass

No extra Dismiss action besides the toast close control.

Fail

A Dismiss button in addition to the close control.
