When both error and validation icons would apply, show error only.

Description

When both error and validation icons would apply on a field, show the error icon only. Pass when error state shows the error icon alone and the valid or format icon is not shown at the same time. Fail when error and valid icons appear together, sending mixed status signals on one field during the error state.

When to use

Text fields that can show both error and valid/format icons.

Not when

Showing error and valid icons together on the same field.

Agent hint

In error state show only the error icon; suppress the valid or format icon.

Pass
