Ant treats a vertical single column as the efficient form default inside one area. Short related fields may share a line for weak grouping, but that is not a second reading column of fields. When content usually spans more than two screens, group into cards each with a large title. Fail two reading columns of fields in one area, or a long dump past two screens with no titled cards.
When to use
Laying out fields inside one Ant form area or long settings page.
Not when
Dashboard multi-widget layouts that are not one form reading path.
