Picker no max menu height

picker-no-max-menu-height

No maximum menu height — grow to show as many options as the available space allows. Field value truncates; menu (and label) wrap.

Description

Spectrum picker menus have no maximum height: they grow to show as many options as available space allows. The closed field value may truncate, while menu items and labels wrap. Capping the menu so available-space options stay hidden, or truncating menu copy like the field button, fails the pattern. Use this when reviewing long option lists; do not confuse field-value ellipsis with a menu height cap.

When to use

Long picker menus where options should fill available viewport space.

Not when

Field-value truncation in the closed button, which may still ellipsize.

Agent hint

Let the menu grow with space; wrap menu and label, do not invent a max height.

Pass

Menu grows with available space (no artificial max); field value may truncate; menu and label wrap.

Fail

A capped menu that hides available-space options, or menu that truncates like the field.
